After an uncharacteristic showing against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night, the LA Clippers turned in an incredible bounce back performance against the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Blowing out a Suns team that had Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal on the floor, the Clippers took care of business to get back on track.
Speaking with reporters after the game, Clippers star Kawhi Leonard made an honest statement on how his team bounced back from the tough loss, saying, “It’s the NBA. You’re playing every other night… We gotta just throw that game away and come out next game with a better mindset and try to win.”
Leonard also noted that the Clippers have a lot of veterans who understand the nature of this league, which helped them recenter their focus after that frustrating loss to the Lakers. Immediately tested against another good team, the Clippers showed their ability to bounce back, which has been one of the biggest themes for this team during their turnaround.
The resilience of this Clippers team has not only been apparent on a game to game basis, but also throughout the course of games. Showing a real ability to sustain punches from their opponents, the Clippers have been fantastic at punching back and surviving momentum swings throughout games. This is one of the biggest reasons they have turned their season around, and that was on full display against the Suns.
