{"id":104555,"date":"2024-03-14T07:51:58","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T07:51:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mlbhi.aweu.info\/?p=104555"},"modified":"2024-03-14T07:54:05","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T07:54:05","slug":"red-sox-analyst-details-when-lucas-giolito-can-return-hong-nhung","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nflquynh.aweu.info\/red-sox-analyst-details-when-lucas-giolito-can-return-hong-nhung\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Sox Analyst Details When Lucas Giolito Can Return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Boston Red Sox suffered a tough blow to their chances in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Losing pitcher Lucas Giolito for the season is a tough pill to swallow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com\/cmg\/FMOZOGU24JERNKCOTB6L6KOC4M.jpg\" alt=\"Report: New Red Sox pitcher could miss entire 2024 season after suffering  worrisome injury \u2013 Boston 25 News\" width=\"554\" height=\"369\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But, the injury he suffered was not the worst-case scenario.<\/p>\n<p>Giolito suffered an elbow injury in spring training and many thought it could require Tommy John surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, that was not the case.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tyler Milliken, Giolito did not need Tommy John surgery.<\/p>\n<p>He instead had successful surgery on his UCL and should be full-go for 2025.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Red Sox got the best news possible on Lucas Giolito\u2019s elbow given the circumstances. <\/p>\n<p>He avoided Tommy John surgery and underwent a successful right elbow ulnar collateral ligament repair with an internal brace yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexspeier?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@alexspeier<\/a>, that should point to him being\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rHtk7PjEiR\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/rHtk7PjEiR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tyler Milliken \u26be\ufe0f (@tylermilliken_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tylermilliken_\/status\/1767912238084440566?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 13, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Losing Gioltio for the full season is not ideal, but at least it should only be this year.<\/p>\n<p>Boston now must find a way to fill the void left in their starting rotation.<\/p>\n<p>The best way for them to do that is by looking into the free-agent market.<\/p>\n<p>Two very good starters are still available in Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery might fit better into the Red Sox\u2019s price range but Snell is the better pitcher.<\/p>\n<p>Signing either of those players would show the Red Sox are serious about contending.<\/p>\n<p>The AL East is a gauntlet of some of the best teams in baseball.<\/p>\n<p>Also, their rival in the New York Yankees will be looking into the starting pitcher market as well with the loss of Gerrit Cole.<\/p>\n<p>Boston has a chance to improve their roster while taking away a potential option for the Yankees.<\/p>\n<p>That should be a no-brainer for them.<\/p>\n<p>Injuries always seem to have a way to derail a season.<\/p>\n<p>But, with this injury to Giolito happening before the season begins, the Red Sox have time to adjust.<\/p>\n<p>It would be wise for them to make another move.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Boston Red Sox suffered a tough blow to their chances in 2024.
