Watt Comeback For 2024

The Houston Texans have brought in some incredible players this off season, most notably, Stefon Diggs. Now they may be bringing back a very familiar face in their best defensive player of all time J.J. Watt.

Watt left the door open for a comeback to his team but only if the Texans “absolutely need” him this season to get that first Super Bowl for the franchise. Head coach DeMeco Ryans would be thrilled to bring back the franchises bets player of all time for big playoff push."Ezoic"

J.J. Watt Unretiring Is Being Spoken Into Reality

"Houston
The Houston Texans culture has changed due to the leadership of DeMeco Ryans.

This past Saturday, Watt revealed to reporters that the head coach has his number, and that he should certainly call in case of emergency. But, this offer only lasts for this season and this season alone.

“I told DeMeco last year, ‘Don’t call unless you absolutely need it. But if you ever do call, I’ll be there,’” Watt said, “And he knows not to call unless he absolutely needs it. This is the last year I’ll tell him that, because I’m not going to keep training [the way] I’ve been training.”

Per Sean Laber of Gridiron Heroics:"Ezoic"

On a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Houston Texans GM Nick Caserio hinted at a possible JJ Watt reunion with his former team.

“It’s very early, it’s May, the season doesn’t start until September and then you’ll look at players the end of October, November case by case. Between him and Brady, we’ll see who jumps back in first

It does seem that Watt may be itching to get back on the field for his team as they are in the best position of their entire history as a franchise to win the Super Bowl this year. That is probably why Ryans would absolutely love to have Watt in that locker room this year.

DeMeco has now made official comments on Watt saying that the coach should call him.

Ryans said Watt “looks good” and “ready to roll.”

While Watt only wants to come back for an emergency, Ryans wants his former teammate back any time for their Super Bowl run.

“I need him now. I need to make that call right now,” Ryans said before chuckling, per radio host Sean Pendergast. “Any time J.J. Watt is ready to go, I’m ready to go.”

The Texans and Ryans would love to bring back the teams biggest legend as it could only help a locker room full of young gentlemen. C.J. Stroud had a coming out party last season and he will look to build on one of the best rookie season from any quarterback of all time.

Watt played a decade in Houston, and then closed his career with the Arizona Cardinals. He retired a legend of a game and beloved by fans and players alike."Ezoic"

Watt was a three time Defensive Player of the Year, and just his presence alone would make the Texans a tougher and wiser team. Houston’s busy offseason could be completed with bringing back their best player in franchise history. If it were up to the head coach, Watt would be on the team today.
