And those needs happen to be on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n<p>It would not be surprising to see the Vikings draft a defensive lineman with several of theirs becoming\u00a0free agents this offseason. But most of their losses are on the edge. Their top three pass rushers will hit the market on March 13.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the Vikings could be eyeing Texas\u2019\u00a0Byron Murphy II.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefensive tackle Byron Murphy II of Texas was a late Senior Bowl scratch and won\u2019t be participating in practice,\u201d\u00a0SportsKeeda\u2019s Tony Pauline wrote\u00a0on January 30. \u201cMurphy has been soaring up draft boards recently, and I mean flying. But he has recorded multiple sacks every year, including a career-high 9.5 this past season. That was the\u00a0fifth-most sacks\u00a0among interior defensive linemen. Instead, it emphasizes pass rushers. Meanwhile, the down linemen occupy offensive linemen. It was something Vikings tackle\u00a0Harrison Phillips\u00a0admitted did not sit well with him initially.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the Vikings still select a defensive tackle early.
